Rights & Royalties
FrequenSea is one part of the music-rights ecosystem. When you sell or license an asset here, the revenue generated is separate from royalties that may arise from other uses of your music.
When someone purchases or licenses your audio through FrequenSea, the transaction generates revenue through the marketplace.
This is the income associated with the transaction itself. Depending on the pathway (Sync, Derive, or Acquire), the buyer receives defined permissions while you receive 100% of your listed price.
Collecting societies (such as SAMRO, CAPASSO, or SAMPRA) administer certain rights and royalties separately according to their respective mandates.
Whether these apply to you depends on your rights, ownership structure, and individual circumstances. Registration with these organizations is a separate process from using FrequenSea.
